Seattle's Ancient Mariners

WHAT I DID

This story was produced in conjunction with a marketing plan to promote PBS’s The Boys in the Boat, featuring the historic UW rowing team’s 1936 Olympic win. The Ancient Mariners are a group of over 60 who row every week out of UW’s Pocock Rowing Center, the same center the Boys in the Boat rowed out of over 80 years ago. We spent a few days with the Ancient Mariners and I became smitten with this group of energetic, charismatic and accomplished seniors. Their stories were incredible and their relationship with each other is easy to capture on video. I was the producer for this video and worked with a larger crew on this story to capture the various shots needed to showcase their rowing skills and edit their story. Link to article here.
